Canon Character and Series: Seiya, or Pegasus Seiya of Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac
In-Game Name: Seiya
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Position & Ship: Fiertia, seaman
Appearance: Seiya is of medium height, has tan skin, and brown eyes rimmed by thick lashes and under thicker eyebrows. His hair is brown, cut short, not quite a mullet but close. It’s usually messy. His face is soft, full of easy, friendly smiles. He usually wears worn denim trousers and durable leather boots that don’t quite reach his calves. He’ll don a jacket if it’s cold, but usually his upper body is covered by a tight red shirt, buttoned up high with the sleeves cut off. He has bands of cloth wrapped around his wrists.
When in armor, his trousers turn red as part of the armor’s power. No matter what he’s wearing, it all turns red. On top of this, a small breastplate appears, but it only covers his upper left chest and heart. Metal wraps around his back below his arms, and one metal strip goes over his left shoulder. Metal shoulder-pads edged in red rest on his shoulders, and bracers of a similar silver-red design protect his forearms. Attached metal gloves protect his knuckles and the base of his fingers, but the fingers cut off before they reach the first joint. Around the waist is a silver belt with a black-and-gold buckle with a strange insignia on it. From this belt hangs a metal skirt of sorts, silver trimmed with red, slit halfway up the front and back. The silver leg armor reaches halfway up his thighs, and his heels have metal wings on them.
Personality: Seiya is fun-loving and rather immature (although he’d never think of himself as such). He’s not a practical joker, unless the situation presents itself. He’s got an active sense of humor, although he feels a little bad if his joking overlaps into serious business. He’s also very sociable and gets along with almost everyone, except for a few with the right combination of pessimism and cynicism. If you’re friendly to him, he’s very willing to be friends.
Now, that doesn’t mean he’ll be backing down from a fight. Seiya is hotheaded and impulsive, especially when there’s something at stake. He’s very driven when he has a goal, and his drive is nearly inexhaustible, causing him to get back on his feet even when terribly injured because he simply has to go on. He can be very stubborn in any situation, but if he has something to fight for, he would very literally die before giving up. He’s proud, and can show off a little at times if he’s making a point.
Seiya is a good friend to have. Although he can be a little selfish sometimes, he doesn’t hold grudges, and is a good guy who cares deeply about his friends. If a buddy of his is in trouble, he’ll jump right in to help them out, and if the situation is critical, stop at nothing to win. Needless to say, all these qualities make him a very formidable ally, and a very deadly foe.
Abilities/Weapons: Seiya is the chosen warrior of the sacred Pegasus Saint Cloth. This suit of magical armor draws on Seiya’s life energy, or “cosmo,” and enhances his speed and strength while acting as a powerful defense. Seiya, thanks to the twelve years of training to harness his own life energy, has developed formidable speed and strength even out of his armor. He is a skilled martial artist. When he isn’t wearing the armor, it forms a Pegasus out of the pieces and fits into a two-and-a-half foot square box. The box is silver, with a Pegasus-head on the front, and a chain out of the horse’s mouth that is pulled to open the box.
He fights strictly hand-to-hand, so his greatest weapons are his fists. However, he has one special attack: the Pegasus Meteor Punch. He concentrates his energy through a brief interpretive dance in which his fists draw the positions of the thirteen stars that make up the constellation of Pegasus. Then, he launches a barrage of punches (like a meteor shower) almost quicker than the eye can see.
How well can your character hack?: He can’t, and honestly wouldn’t try to without a good reason. He’d be more likely to sneak into their rooms and get a peek at the journal itself.
Weaknesses: Seiya’s main weaknesses are his immaturity, his stubbornness, and his impulsiveness. He will act without thinking things through. Sometimes his instinct-based fighting works. Sometimes it doesn’t. He can also be selfish at times, and rude to people he doesn’t like.
Let me see, what else? He’s not stupid, but he’s no genius, and although sometimes he can come up with a winning strategy in a pinch, he’s not a plan-it-out kind of guy. He’s not all that educated.
Oh, and as a side note, Seiya is very reluctant to hit women, unable to fight them with his full strength. I blame the sister issues.
History: Seiya was born in Bellcius. His parents died when he was very young, leaving him and his older sister Seika alone. Originally they were in St. Mary’s orphanage, but when a man named Mitsumasa Kido, founder of a large company called the Foundation, discovered Seiya, he was sent to a different orphanage. There, he mingled with other orphans collected by Kido from across Reial. He visited his sister as often as possible, and befriended Miho, a sweet fellow orphan girl.
When Seiya was seven, he Kido’s other orphans were sent to places across Reial to train and acquire a suit of sacred armor for themselves. Seiya was sent away against his will; he didn’t want to leave his sister and only living family, Seika. However, he was manhandled onto an airship bound for a secret valley in the center of the Badlands mountains: a well-hidden settlement called Sanctuary. Concealed from above with magic, and nearly inaccessible from around unless you knew exactly where it is, Sanctuary is the center of a secret organization built around the Sacred Cloths and the Saints who wore them. Here, Seiya trained in martial arts for twelve years, finally winning the Bronze Cloth of Pegasus at age nineteen. Kido had promised that, if Seiya won the bronze cloth and brought it back to Bellcius, Seiya could see his sister again. Needless to say, Seiya was overjoyed. However, his mentor and teacher Marin’s rival, Shaina, was unhappy that her own student had not won the armor. As a native of the Badlands, she deeply mistrusted the Ivonan Seiya. The armors were created in the Badlands mountains, and Shaina was part of a faction that believed that the wearers of the sacred armor should all be Badlands natives. She and her followers attacked Seiya as he was trying to leave. Marin refused to step in, saying that this battle was Seiya’s to fight.
In this battle, Seiya donned the Armor of Pegasus for the first time, and defeated Shaina with his Pegasus Meteor Punch, knocking off her mask in the process. In Sanctuary’s society, the female warriors must wear masks at all times as a symbol of giving up their femininity. If a man sees a female Saint without her mask, she must either kill that man or marry him. Shaina was unable to continue the battle, despite Seiya being blissfully unaware of the mask’s tradition.
Seiya hopped onto the first airship bound for Bellcius, intending to confront Mitsumasa Kido. He discovered that Seika had left the orphanage shortly after Seiya had left for Sanctuary, and her current location was unknown. Also, Mitsumasa Kido had died, leaving his adopted granddaughter, Saori Kido, running the Foundation in his place. She refused to honor her grandfather’s initial promise. Instead, she offered Seiya another deal: another saint, Jabu of the Unicorn, had boarded a mercenary ship as first mate. Through him, she was seeing the world vicariously, and extending the Foundation’s influence. If Seiya agreed to travel on this airship under Jabu, she would use the Foundation’s contacts throughout Reial to find his sister.
Seiya initially disagreed - he remembered Jabu from the orphanage as a man with no honor, who sucked up to young Saori, even allowing her to ride on his back like a pony. He didn’t like Jabu one bit, and did not relish the idea of taking orders from him. However, his old childhood friend Miho reminded him that if he were out there, sailing around on an airship, then he would be able to search for his sister. It was better than trying to get around himself with no money, and certainly better than sitting on his butt in Bellcius.
Reluctantly, Seiya agreed, and boarded the Fiertia….

Third Person (roleplay):
Seiya stared up at the airship, fingers wrapped around the straps that kept the box on his back in place. The armor-box wasn’t exactly the ideal backpack, being bulky, heavy, and carried by two awkward shoulder-straps. It held his Pegasus cloth, though, so it was well worth hauling around with him. He’d take it anywhere, even if he had to carry it all the way to Boston in the fall.
“Home sweet home,” he said to himself, eyeing the ship. He’d only been on two airships before, and neither one had been anything spectacular. This one looked…different. Maybe it was just a feeling, but the other two ships had been purely transport ships. This one was built to fight. Even Seiya’s untrained eyes could see that. He wondered if he would see a real air battle on this ship, and the idea sent a thrill up his spine. No child hadn’t played air-pirates, and back at the orphanage, there had been all-out wars between wild and free Vohemaro pirates and the glorious, heroic Ivonan military. His mind filled with images of air-battles, cannons blazing, fighters swooping in and out of the fray.
“Hey! You gonna stand there all day with a stupid look on your face? Get on the ship!” a voice called from behind him.
“I’m going, I’m going!” Seiya yelped back, galvanized into motion. He ran up the gangplank, making a comical figure with his flailing legs and giant box on his back.
First Person (journal):
Hello? Hello? Is this thing on?
Hey, I think I’m getting the hang of this!
This is so confusing. I don’t see why Saori gave me one of these things. It’s only something so she can keep tabs on me. It feels like she’s got me on a leash. Maybe this is what Jabu feels like all the time, haha.
So what do I say? Umm...I’m Seiya. Nice to meetcha? Uh...
....I’m talking to a machine.
This feels weird…
